Halo is simmply the greatest game of all time. The game for starters has a great plot. You are the Master Cheif (read Halo: the Fall of Reach for details on him), an alien race called the Covenant has sworn for religious reasons that it will annhilate the human race. It's your job to destroy the newly discovered ring planet called Halo but that's easier said then done. First your ship is boarded, your escape vessel crashlands on the ring killing everyone but you. you have to find a way to destroy the ring, find Captain Keyes, and save your own rear end in the process. This game revolutionizes first person shooters by giving the player a regenerating shield something original to this game and also a feature allowing the single player game to be played with two players a great bonus. Then there's multiplayer. This is in mine and many peoples views the greatest multiplayer game of all time. It allows as few as 2 people and as many as 16 via online play or link cables that are sold seperately from this pack.
Now for the pack itself. A great combination exactly what I was looking to buy and I will as soon as I get the money. Halo, I've already explained, the extra controller is a must for Halo play. The DVD kit is great since it's the only way you can watch DVDs on the X-Box. Electronic Gaming Monthly is a great magazine, very useful to gamers with any system, I already have a subscription but it will be over soon so this is useful too. As for the strategy guide, I'm not sure that this is quite the greatest thing to add in. If I was creating this package I would have added the prequel book, Halo: Fall of Reach and the X-Box link cable. But I give 5 stars for the game and a 4.5 for the system, since the DVD doesn't work without an extra [price] averaging to the 5 stars I gave the pack.
