I love this controller. I am in love with it, and is designed perfectly for game play. I never bought a Playstation for one reason - I hated the controller. I bought a Nintendo 64 - why? I loved the controller. This is the one component that lets you play the game, so it is a very major part of gameplay. What good is a game if you can't control it?
No, it is not too big. My hands fit easily around it, and I'm 15. The joysticks are positioned perfectly for first player shooters, and are great for other games alike. Duel triggers are always ready to be pulled by your index fingers, and built in shock. Infact, you only need to use four fingers to use this controller. Your index fingers always are on the triggers, with your left thumb always on the left joystick (or keypad in some games), and the right thumb on either the right joystick or ready to hit one of the 6 buttons.
The gamecube controller is a joke, it obviously shows why the system is geared towards 5-year olds - who yes, probably can't hold the Xbox controller, but wouldn't be able to play the games in the first place.
I suggest just heading down to Best Buy or another store that lets you try stuff out, and just feeling all the controllers - no, you won't look like an idiot - why buy a system with controllers that will give you chronic hand problems?
