Xbox editor Mike Fehlauer said this game looks like Halo, and I think he meant it as a compliment. Most of the game is played in the first-person view through Samus's visor, which offers both heads-up display and scanner abilities, but Samus can also roll up into a ball to negotiate tight spots. What's really cool is that the game shifts to a third-person trailing perspective in this mode, which helps refresh the gameplay. Metroid Prime has some original weapons, such as the grapple beam, wave beam, and freeze beam, and the Big N is promising loads of others, too. The game looked great at the show, but we didn't have enough time to really get used to the controls.

If you asked me 1 year ago which Metroid was my favorite, I would have said Super Metroid for Super Nintendo. Super Metriod was addictive, fun, had a great storyline and earned itself a top spot on my all-time favorite games list. If you ask me the same question now, hands-down it has to be Metroid Prime. Not only is the game just as addictive and just as fun, but, the makers managed to create another great storyline. All of these aspects with the new incredible graphics and the spectacular 3-D environment, what else can I say. This is a game that makes you wish you can get off of work early. The only thing I don't like about the game is that it's a little difficult to look up or down, but don't let that stop you from getting it because the game more than makes up for it. I'm really glad that Nintendo dicided to do Metroid Prime because I will definitely get many more hours of enjoyment out of it. I give it a 4.9 out of 5 stars.
