The Quantum FighterPad is the Dreamcast's most intelligent controller, featuring analog and digital control, eight fire buttons, auto-fire and full programmability. Both a Visual Memory Card Slot and a Rumble Pad Slot allow for simultaneous game saves, jolts and vibrations.
Buyer Reviews : After reading a lot of mixed press on the Quantum Fighter Pad, I decided to pick one up and see for myself. Although I've used better controllers, I don't feel the Quantum Fighter Pad deserves all the bad press and insults it gets. I had three main problems with it: Yes, the shoulder buttons do press up and in instead of the trigger-like configuration of the standard Dreamcast controller, which is somewhat unnatural. Also, due to the layout of the buttons it's easier to press X and B at once, but almost impossible to do Y and A, meaning fans of Soul Calibur and similar fighting games might need to make use of those programmable keys to avoid losing use of that Y/A throw. The programming buttons are kind of, well... sharp. They're annoying to activate and take some getting used to to program. Despite all this, the Quantum is still a decent pad. I didn't notice any lag in response time, it's comfortable to hold and use, more 'natural' with the cord coming out the top, and contrary to other reviews I've read, the buttons seem secure. In many places you can get this gamepad for less than the official Dreamcast pad, so if you're a casual gamer just looking for another option or maybe a 2nd/3rd/4th controller for Power Stone 2, this is a good choice.
